Hi Francie
My grandfather Herbert George Lynch was the eldest son of George Henry Lynch and Mabel Revell.
George Henry Lynch was the eldest of 12 children [Eva was #9] and lived in New Plymouth, Masterton,Palmerston North and Auckland at various times during his life. He is buried in Auckland as is his second wife Mabel Woods. My grandfather Herbert was estranged from his father for most of his life - he had left home when he was 14 to work on a farm not long after his mother died.
George and Mabel [#2]had three daughters.I have had contact from the son of one of my grandfathers' half sisters and he is lovely and it was from him that a lot of information was gleaned in regard my great grandfathers life.
I have contacted Eva's granddaughter - Elaine - who lives in New Zealand and she has helped me a lot with her fathers' history and her grandmother Eva's history.
If you answer this letter and continue in like manner three times then you are able to Personal Message me and then I can disclose email address etc.
Thanks for the contact.
Regards
Queenie

Thank you Queenie for your reply.  I am wondering if Elaine is my friend, Margie's sister.  She did tell me her sister did have some information which she emailed to me to help the research although I wasn't sure if she had a sister living in NZ.  I will email Margie now and hopefully she will be able to enlighten me.  If you acknowledge this post and I reply later - does that make three posts? :)

By the way, did you ever find the ship the Lynch family came out on?  I noticed in one of your older posts that you did not have.  I found it on familysearch

Hi Francie
Margaret is a half sister to Elaine I believe. Several of the family live in New Zealand.
Cheers

Hi Francie
I did know the ship was called the Carisbrooke Castle I think I got this info Elaine but I am not sure now. Information is gathered over a long period of time and my records aren't as great as they could be.

Hi francie
If you send me a few details in two more emails it should be all ok. Many of the Lynch family immigrated to America after leaving New Zealand and going back to England.

Hi again - yes, you have the name of the ship correct.   I can't wait to tell her about you and find out about Elaine.

Gosh, it's very easy to forget that this is a public forum.  I was gaily typing away and then realised I wasn't composing an email.  Had to do the delete key  :)

Hi Francie
Yes very public forum. That is why the Personal message facility is good.Private info and email addresses etc don't get publicized.
This is a great forum for finding things out.
