I have 2 James Wood, 1 born 5/12/1853 and the 2nd 16/12/1854, Banchory, Devenick, parents for the earlier 1 James Wood and Margaret Caie and the 2nd James Wood and Agnes Caie, I did look for a death for the earlier 1 when I was in Register House, found nothing. Could it be the same parents or not, hope someone can help me.

Did you check for marriages for both sets of parents?  Both marriages are on Family Search

Hi Ann,

Yes they are two different couples. If it helps narrow it down for you, the one born to James Wood and Agnes Caie died in 1857.

Hi Ann,

I am not sure of the connection between the Caies, but the two James Woods appear to be first cousins.

Hi Ann,

No problem. if I can help with anything on the Wood families of Banchory Devenick, just let me know. My wife's family descend from James Wood and Agnes Caie, and I have info on quite a few of the Wood families from that parish.
