The first two words are Uncle Will.

The rest might be brother Matthew, W Booth.  Does the photo show three people perhaps?

The front is of a man in his 20's.

Not sure what the order of the words should be but I think it is:
Uncle Will Brother Mickie
W Booth JEH 29/8/27

Noting that Mike suggested Matthew I think he may be right, so Mathew rather than Mickie. :)

Perhaps it is:
Uncle Will
W. Booth
Brother Mathew
Then initials and date.
I am just wondering if the brother Mathew was added later as a bit of extra family history, because the word brother looks like it has been squeezed in.

Do you have a William Booth in your family tree?

Hi,

I'm not related in any way to this family. I picked up the photo from a fair last weekend hoping to find a home for it.

Advancing on what you folks have said, I'm leaning toward it saying
"Uncle Will Bro to Matthew"
"W. Booth    JEH    29/8/27"

I assume the initials and date refer to who and when the photo was labelled.
The addition of the name "Matthew" could have been added to indicate which side of the family he belonged to.
