Marriage of Alexandrew/Alexander Campbell/Mary Kelly circa 1880.
« on: Thursday 23 October 14 12:36 BST (UK) »
On 1901 census at 9 Mabbot St I have Alexandrew 40 (possible Alexander) with his wife Mary 36 and children.
states he was a labourer was born Co Dublin.
Their children.
 Alexandrew 21.
 Catherine 18.
 Ann 10.
 Elizabeth 4.

On 1911 Census at 10 Mabbot St.
Mary   50  is a widow
Annie 19
Lizzie 14
It tells me that she was 30yrs married had 8 children with 3 living.

Im trying to source a marriage cert for Mary and Alexander Campbell as im trying to either confirm or dismiss his possible link to a branch of the Campbell family who were located in Howth from the early 19th century.

I have been given a document dating from early 1800s it is a 'Boys Indenture' form pledging Alexander Campbell of Howth as a 'stonemason' apprentice to his uncle David Campell of Howth.
Its possible that the above Alexanderew may be related to the Stonemason family.
If I can get my hands on his Marriage cert to Mary Kelly I may hopefully find a link.

As usual all help greatly appreciated.

1877 marriage for an Alexander Campbell & Maria (Mary?) Kavanagh-

Son George baptised 1878-

Son Alexander baptised 1879-

Son Patrick Joseph baptised in 1884-

Baptism for daughter Elizabeth in 1896 (note address 9 Mabbot St.)-

Added- when Mary Campbell said in 1911 census she was married 30 years it might have been a rough figure or she was counting the 30 years she had been married to Alexander so would be worth checking deaths c1907.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Have you seen this chap in Howth
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Howth/Howth/1270597/

Yes Dathai, I think the document I have relates to him..The person that gave me the document believes that her Grandmother Mary Ann Campbell who was born 1889 may be related to him.

This is why im trying to link her Father Alexandrew to the Howth 'Campbells' ..it would be strange to have such a document without a family connection.?

On Mary Anns baptismal cert from 1889 at the Pro Cathedral it gives her father as Andrew which I think may be an error..the address given is Mabbot St so im fairly sure that it is the same family.

I remember corresponding with the Author Barry Kennerk via email sometime back and he told me he was able to follow up his relatives work records in N As ,cant remember exactly what he said but maybe the Mechanics Institute or Masons something like that, sorry to be so vague.

Maybe if you could contact him he could point you in the right direction

Did you note on the 1877 marriage that Aghadowey posted there are a few little notes in Latin one mentions a Rev P O'Neill and the other something like conversion perhaps he was C O I before getting married ?.
