Brick Wall - Charles Brennan, Finglas
« on: Thursday 13 November 14 03:31 GMT (UK) »
I've run into a brick wall which I'm hoping the collective wisdom might be able to overcome.  I've been tracing the Brennan family back but can get no further than Charles Brennan, d. 12/06/1850. Age at death was about 70 placing his year of birth about 1780.  I am not 100% sure where he died, possibly in or near Finglas, maybe St. Margaret's, Harristown or one of the other small places nearby. Also, I have no idea if he was born in the area or not.  I know deaths weren't registered until about 1864, but I'm hoping someone might have an idea, otherwise the family tree goes back no further.

Thanks Dathai, the dates come from a headstone in St. Canice's in Finglas. It was erected by Patrick Brennan to several members of his family. The relevant part is:

In memory of his beloved son Charles who died 26th Nov 1887, age 35 years
Also his beloved father Charles Brennan who died 12 Jun 1850, age 70 years

No indication if Charles Brennan Snr. is actually buried there though?
