Enniscorthy - CARSTAIRS

[Michael Patterson]

I'm from England & will be be visiting Ireland this year, and Enniscorthy in particular, to try and locate records and any living relatives of Michael Moses John Carstairs, son of John and Brigid Carstairs. Michael was my uncle, after whom I am named, and his birth was registered in 1919 at Enniscorthy; volume 4, page 448, FHL film No 101078. He was married to my late aunt Marjorie who lived in Sheerness, England. Michael (Moses) died in 1942 serving with the British Royal Navy on the Russian convoy routes.

I will be coming to Enniscorthy, probably in the next few weeks but it would be great to know if there are people connected to Michael's blood family who I could meet and talk with.

Hi gortonboy, I think you have just found Michael's parents and grandmother for which I am hugely grateful. Many, many thanks indeed. I can also focus on Ballyhoge as well in my search for surviving descendants. Michael died in action at the age of 23 with no children and it will be interesting to see whether his parents had other children who have living descendants. Best Regards, Michael.
