because i found a batism 27 jan 1834 in grangegeeth, monknewton, dowth and rath she told me there was no such place and belives it is meath i need to look at
....

surprised the person at wdytya wasn't able to work out the location - Dowth is a well known Neolithic monument close to Newgrange. All part of the 'Brú na Bóinne' Heritage Centre, and between Drogheda and Slane.

as far as I can see the parents for that 1834 Rathkenny baptism are James and Jane (no maiden surname)  - so doesn't seem to match with your John.

You can generally add father's name to baptism searches on the RootsIreland system, but unfortunately using the maiden name doesn't work on all sections, so the only way to check is to purchase the records for each matching John Kelly baptism  - expensive project as there are about 50 baptisms that I see with father's name James.

Bear in mind that RootsIreland dont have records for every county..
