Hi Marie,

Thanks for the information on that marriage, that puts us back into the possibility of being related then I guess!

On the Kinturk school listing I was incorrect, the records available are only from 1864 onwards. Hannah is not on the Kilmaley baptism records going back to 1831 but I understand those records are only partial ones and Hannah may have been born before that date anyway.

I have another Haren in my family tree who was the wife of my great great grandfather ( a Michael Murphy) whose name was Mary and it would seem they were married sometime between 1850 and 1855 but that is all I know of her.

Hello Brian,

I am presently recording all the Baptismal records for Kilmaley Parish 1828 - 1880.  This is a very slow and long process because the writing is atrocious.

These may be of some interest to you.

James Murphy & Bridget O'Brien of Kinturk had Judy Murphy baptised April, 1831.
Sps:  Timothy & Anne Murphy

Michael Murphy & Bridget D...... of Kinturk had Catherine Murphy baptised on 8 June, 1831.
Sps:  Patrick Fitzgerald & Margaret Murphy

Michael Murphy & Mary Lynch of Kinturk had Nanna Murphy baptised 23 June, 1834.
Sps:  Denis & Mary Murphy

James Murphy & Catherine Sexton of Kinturk had Bridget Murphy baptised 15 April, 1834.
Sps:  Peter Murphy & Mary Frawley.

My Hannah Murphy Haren was still alive at the 1911 Census.

Hi, I am new to this list, but recognized the Mc.Guane name. My connection is Bridget Mc.Guane who was born about 1808 in Ennis, Clare. She married Matthew Meere and had at least two children, Catherine, (my ancestor) born about 1833, and Michael about 1836, both of whom imigrated to Australian, and each died within ten years.  Bridget died on 24 Dec at Drumbigil, Clare, probably at the home of one of her other children. Her husband ended his life three years later in the Workshouse.

Hello Heather,

Welcome to RootsChat.  McGuane is a very popular surname in Clare.  Have you checked Clare Library online?   www.clarelibrary.ie they have an excellent Genealogy section.  Ennis have their baptisms online, you may find something of interest there too.

Hi Derek,

I am sure you know that Murphy is the most popular surname in Ireland.  Does it state on the marriage cert where Michael Murphy came from?

Have you checked www.clarelibrary.ie for excellent sources on family research.

All the best,
Marie
