Well I am happy with all the help with the McGregor's and McDonald,
Can I ask please any ideas how I can find my Clark ancestors. John Clark born abt 1816 married to Catherine McDonald I think Appin balachulish, died 1870 ballachulish. John is the son of a John Clark and Ann McGregor. This is as far as I can get with my Clark family. Any ideas peeps wgere i can go from here. When I retire in 6 years time I will try to get up to Scotland again.

Not sure if you have looked at this -
http://www.freecen.org.uk/ has the 1841 Census transcription showing a John Clark aged 65 slate quarrier , with wife Ann aged 60 , in Ballachulish.
