Richard & Jane ROWE of Yealmpton
« on: Thursday 07 February 13 07:18 GMT (UK) »
John ROWE was baptised in 1811 at Yealmpton to a Richard and Jane Rowe. I believe this couple also had a daughter, Mary, baptised in 1813. I believe they are the Richard Rowe and Jane Dyer the married in 1809 at Holbeton. I know they were living at Newton Ferrers in 1841 with their grandson, Edwin (son of John, John died in 1839).
I pretty much know nothing else on them, can anyone find anything?

Good Morning
In 1851 they are living in Newton Ferrers
Richard Rowe 73 carpenter Yealmpton
Jane 72 Brixton
Jane Mann 9 granddaughter Yealmpton
Richard Mann son in law 37 wid mason Ugborough
next door to James Rowe 67 carpenter Yealmpton and wife Mary Ann 63 shop keeper Newton ferrers.
In 1861 still there with servant Mary Revie 14 from Revelstoke.
There is a death on line for Jane 29.7.1862.Not sure how accurate that is.
Richard Mann 25 is with a wife Mary 25 in 1841 mason Yealmpton

Thanks Ciderdrinker.
So I doubt either of them would still have been alive in 1871, because they would be in their 90's.
And Mary married Richard Mann but it appears she may have died young, as a lot of her family did. It's a bit sad. Either they were just unlucky or there was some genetic disease, this had crossed my mind until I've just seen that Richard and Jane lived until their 80's at least.
