I have been tried to find information on George McKee from Glassdrumman Ballynahinch. He is supposed to be buried in the old Killaney graveyard on the hill. Went there recently couldn't find grave although I was taken there years ago and shown it. Grave wasn't well identified. Any info regarding his family would be greatly appreciated, not sure how to get records of Killaney graveyard burials. He had children called Stephen (buried in Killaney Parish church), Albert, George and Richard and perhaps a girl as well. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't seen them, lots of references to McKees on Ros Davies' excellent site:

Some idea of dates might help your search.

If I read this website correctly

 http://www.rootschat.com/links/019ar/

transcriptions of Killaney Graveyard were done by R. S. J. Clarke some years ago and available in the National Library Dublin.  I think that the books were published with titles beginning "Old Families of..." and are probably also available in NI libraries.

Dear glensman,

Many thanks for your help so far, I have ordered a copy of the R.S.J. Clarke book and also used Rosa Davies site. Still struggling for any concrete information.

best regards MoMcKee

Could this also be your George near Ballynahinch
George McKee Tenant.  Civil   Parish MAGHERADROOL,  Townland of MAGHERAKNOCK
Printing Date   1863   Map Reference   4

I wonder if  your Ballynahinch is a red herring, Killaney parish is close to Saintfield parish which also contains a Glassdrumman townland   There are McKee’s in both parishes but no George in 1863.
