Little Susan born 1860 died it seems from the index (mother showing as Storrer) in 1865 in Canongate :-\ Both parents still alive and still living at Brown's Court in Canongate.

Can't easily see the death of mother Susan in Scotland with the names we have  :-\

1851 Census - New Row, Perth

Hannah Storer   Widow   42    Milliner    b. Perth, Perthshire
John Scobie   46      Gardener                     ditto
Susan Storer  30                                        ditto
David Scobie   10                                       ditto

So, as happens in Scotland time and time again, Susan shown under her maiden name even though married.

I'm wondering if David Alexander Scobie had something to hide - why enlist and marry as Alexander (not Scobie) and why state he was born in Leeds, England when he was born in Perth.

Something decidedly fishy methinks.

Hannah from 1851 maybe a sister to Susan? She also showed as a widow in 1861 as McGlashan.

Why can't we (I!!) find Susan's death I wonder?

No, we didn't have that previously. Given first born son David's name, looks likely don't you think?

Also saw the following. If we think that Hannah McGlashan/Storrar may be a possible sister to Susan, there is this possible entry https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FM9Y-XKM

At a guess, could David born 1841 have been called after both grandfathers (David and Alexander)?
