Grayshott Convent, Mother and Baby Home in Surrey 1965
« on: Friday 29 August 14 18:36 BST (UK) »
I have just found this site whilst trying to trace other mothers who had their babies the same time as me in August 1965.  I was one of the lucky ones because I kept my son after awaiting an adoption in Sheringham Norfolk for one year, so I was able to bring him home luckily as I was getting married and soon had two more boys.
I would love to hear from any mothers who may remember me, my name is Carmelina Taplin (nee Tonna) and my son Mark Anthony was christened at the church next to the convent.  I would be happy to communicate and I do remember a couple of names, but they may wish to remain anonymous.  I did watch the film Philomena which I think, has made it easier for us to come forward and admit our past.
