Hi folks, Well, here pops up someone else related to you all. I'm a descendant of the Herds you are talking about on my grandmother's side.  That also makes you related to the Martins and MacNabs in St. Andrews. The Robert Herd Nancy is talking about is a brother of my Great-great-grandfather and he is the father of Sandy Herd, the Open Golf Champion.

Hi everyone,
Sandy Herd is my dads great grandfather, my grandmothers grandfather. Her father was Robert aka Bob Herd. Her mother was Gracey Steel. My father has some of Sandys things but unfortunately my grandmothers brother Alec owned most of them and they were sold by his children. My dad is happy to share what he knows as he was aware the family is also US based.
