looking for Passmore anteescendents from the Barnstaple area
« on: Thursday 01 May 14 11:32 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the family of John Passmore who married Ann Sanders in 1861. They had two sons I know of: John Sanders Passmore born 1862 and James Passmore born 1866. Both these sons later immigrated to Queensland Australia. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Jan.

Thank you both for the help. Liz I think you're family is in fact mine. Both John and James left England for Australia at a young age. James was 18 and married here at 21. Alfred also came out but I'm not sure when. How did you find out their occupations? I could find nothing on the census list. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I too am looking at the  census image, although sometimes they are very difficult to read, however I haven't managed to see any occupations. However, yesterday I managed to find James Passmore
's birth year, 1832, and that of Ann Sander's, 1837. I seem stuck here as I can't find either sets of parents.
