Hello

Sorry, i am getting a wee bit mixed up.

Yes, Eliza is my 2 x gr grandmother. she married john brown.

What i was wondering is, is there anyway that we can find records on james and catherine while they were in Ireland?

Cheers

Hi all

Just thought I would post in this again to get it going again.

I have tried to look on the Irish genealogy site and cannot find anything for Felix , his wife or daughter.

Can anyone help me with this?

Really would like to trace the steps of Felix.

Thanks in advance

Hi There

Your original post is a few years back and one question that you asked was re the ages.

In rural areas of Ireland it was fairly common for a young lady to marry a much older man. The first daughter may have been lucky enough to have a dowry but the rest of the daughters were usually matched off as best as the family could manage; ages didn't really factor in much; HA not like today !

Hi There

There is a Felix McMurray in Leitrim in 1857; of course your Felix could possibly have been deceased by the time the GV was taken but given the relative unusual name it MIGHT be worth following up.

I have noted that in the same area of Cloonclare there was a Felix McMorrow, HUM not sure if these are variations of one surname OR just a major coincidence.

It might be worth bearing in mind if you do route around in Leitrim !

Cloonclare's baptisms only go back to 1841 and marriages only go back to 1850, so all too late to be ale to prove or discount this Felix  :(

Hi Tara

Thanks so much for your replys and for all of your information.

Can I ask why you looked at Leitrim? I am curious.

I just hit a brick wall when it comes to Felix and his wife Catherine.

The only reason I know Felix and Catherine is because he is listed on Catherine's death cert.

Felix mcmurray, farmer.

Other than that, I have nothing.

I want to know more about Felix and Catherine and they would have went through the potatoe famine I am sure.

Thanks , Paul

Hi There

Ha !

With Ireland I don't discount ANY of the 32 counties.

I just look to see where a name crops up and see if I can find anything to back it up and tie it in to what I already have !

You HAVE to have a starting point, either to count it in or discard it.

Hey, look sure double check yourself and see if it fits in or not.

Good Luck

Tara
