Cathy, if there was an 'applause' smiley I would be using it right now. I did not think I would get any answers in such a short time, but, it looks like you've found in a few hours, the information I've been trying to find for months. The information you've posted appears to be my aunt and not only that, but, I now have extra information on Dona/ Donna's parents. Well done.  :)

Hi Ladyhawk, I was very young when I first got to know my aunt and it wasn't something I would have thought about asking. I wish I'd known her better, but they moved to London for a while, then my uncle died, I have one letter from Donna  to my mother and father when her husband died and she was absolutely devastated, my father died a few months after my uncle,  as far as I know, she didn't keep in touch with my side of the family .

I did try to work out from the site if Donna had any brothers or sisters but I think I'll try to find out when, where, if, the marriage ever took place. I'd be very surprised if my uncle was willing to brave the wrath of his father by not marrying.  ;)

Hi Ladyhawk and Lauralil,
I was just looking thought my e-mails and found the one referring to this subject. I'd just about given up hope of ever finding anything else out about my Aunt Donna then read this forum thread again. I'm afraid I still haven't found any information at all about my aunt and uncle's marriage, however, I do now have a copy of the ships passenger list where my uncle was returning to India around 1960 (ish) - I don't have the information in front of me for the exact date. If this helps Lauralil at all - and it's not much - I do remember my aunt talking about a nephew she often visited. My aunt and uncle were then living in Wimbledon, London so I'm guessing the nephew lived near to them. Could the nephew be the son of Maud Margaret Maximano and if that's the case did Maud Margaret move to England around the same time as my aunt Nestar Dona Maximano (Donna)?

Hi
I have just realised now that you have responded to my post and may i apologise for the very very late response, i have put together what i believe to be quite a large family tree within the ancestry page that i am registered on. Still no further forward with additional information on Audrey Sayers though. Have you managed to find any more information yourself on your aunt? Am i correct in thinking that you will be a distant relation of my grandmother? It gets very confusing branching out a family tree and determining how everyone is related!!
