Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
This is so exciting ! My grandfather was Joseph, Michael and Norah's brother. I made contact with one of Michael's grandchildren and although she could not confirm my info, she had heard the same stories. I will send you a pm and hopefully you will be able to fill in some blanks for me.

Eileen

Thanks so much for reply.

I have searched  the archives but my information  is so vague that its diffiult to hone in on any  specific O'Brien,. Alias seems to be the norm at that time.
On the upside, When searching the photographic  archive I discovered a photo of my DAD on a BSA (regiment and date confirmed) and could give them a name to match the photo.

Hi, My Gran father was Michael O'Brien of 35 Golden Lane ( he was born on Chancery Lane off Golden Lane) My Gran Mother was Elizbeth they had sons Jack , Kevin, Joe, Vincent, & Micko who was killed by a motor bike outside the house, the daughters were Lily , Kathleen, Patty (my mother). The Cleggs who lived in the house were cousins, also the Birmingham's. I can remember my mother talking about aunty Norah, My gran father had 2 sisters who lived in Patricks St ( I don't think they were married). My gran father was with B/Comp, 3rd Batt, Old IRA, He was interned in Ballykinlar in Northern Ireland with Sean Lemass. I spent a lot of time in No35 with my gran parents and I could tell some stories but not in print.

Michael,
did your mother, Patty O'Brien, ever work in a confectionry factory in Dublin?
(Clarnico Ltd, Mount Tallant Avenue, Kenilworth).
About end of 'thirties/early to mid 'forties).
Regards, Jimmy Kelly.
