Thank you for the very prompt reply. It would indicate that the John age67 on 1901 would have been born 1834. The John on the 1851 census was 12 thus born in Burt 1839. Could be the same, age off by 5 years. Unfortunately the 1901 does not give hint to parents of John so might be other than James and Rebecca.
The Rebecca who died 20 SEP 1879 in Belfast was 57, thus born 1822. A bit young to have been mother of John born 1834 but okay if John was born 1839. John did have an older brother Robert according to 1851 census who was born 1838.
James Henry Porter born 12 FEB 1841 was married in Parish of Kilpatrick in accordance with the rites and customs of the Church of England and Church of Ireland so Episcopalian fits. That is still
my church.
The question still remains about James Henry born 12 FEB 1841 in Corbally according to his
induction papers. Could he be a part of the Donegal family. If possible, Wendy and I hope to visit
Belfast this coming September or October. Following are notes I copied this trip:
