Notes on a baptism

Can anyone help translate the note written in a 1849 Catholic Baptism Register.

First thought was "the mother a milliner...." but maybe not.

I think that's probably my best bet.  I originally thought that since the child's status isn't recorded as lawful that perhaps it was a comment regarding the unmarried status of the mother but in Latin.
