Hi Shellback

I have looked at the 1911 Census and I cannot see where the two “Miss Fardy’s” might be.

What were the names and possible ages of your “Miss Fardy’s”?

Hi

There seems to be 2 Maudlintown in the 1911 Census. Are they from the same place? Or are they different places?

Both of these Maudlintowns have Fardy in them. Which of these relate to the list from
Shellback? And which relates to the list from Shorts?

In Maudlintown, DED of Clongeen there are 7 residences see the following:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Wexford/Clongeen/Maudlintown/

In Maudlintown Urban, DED Wexford No 2 Urban there are 37 residences, see:

Regards

Two different areas. Both Shellback and Shorts lists refer to the one in Wexford town. Maudlintown in Wexford town (Wexford urban) is an area of the town. The other Maudlintown is a townland in the parish of Bannow, DED Clongeen.

Hi again Culbaire,

Thanks for sorting them out for me. The Fardy of Maudlintown in town is the one I need to look at.

Very interesting information. Would you possibly have a list of occupants for The Faythe for the same period. I' looking for Dora Radford (nee Radford)

Thanks

Hi - There's a P Radford resident in the Faythe as at Oct 1936.

The more details you can provide the more chance of getting information. What's her approx year of birth? Who's she married to? (is her maiden and married surname 'Radford' or is that a mistake?)

Thanks for your prompt reoply. Yes, that is a mistake. I'm looking for Dora Radford(nee Devereux)
She was born in 1885 and died in 1974. I found her living with her family in 96 The Faythe in the 1901 census. She then moved to King St (1911) census. Would you know if the numbering of the houses in the The Faythe in the 1901 census is the same as it is today. She lived in 172 The Faythe when she returned there. I am her grandson. I have information about the Faythe Devereux's that lived in 96 The Faythe in 1901 if anyone is interested.

Thanks

Unfortunately the numbers in the census relates to the form handed out by the enumerator to complete rather than the house number.

I checked another list of residents in the Faythe and a Dora Radford is named on it. It's a list of ratepayers in 1936 who were signatories in opposition to a proposed loan for Wexford's new Town Hall.
