I wonder if someone can help? My 4th Great Grandfather George Salmon(d) b 13 August 1786 married Janet Cuthel(Cuthill) on 30 November 1810 in Kilsyth Stirlingshire. George died 14 December 1793, Edinburgh. I have found the possibility of George's father being a John Salmond, however I can find 2 John Salmond's both born to parents Peter Salmon and Janet Brock. One born 31 March 1758, the other 28 September 1762. I haven't found a death between 1758 and 1762 for a John so am unsure which John George's father may be - and whether in fact George's grandparents were Peter Salmon and Janet Brock. I have also posted this on the Midlothian board.
