Herbert Percy Ritchie  bn London 6th Jan 1887 d 2nd April, 1960 and his gracious lady Mabel (nee) Aspinall born Lotipo 11th Sept 1892 died 1st June 1982. Loving parents of.....Herbert,Alan,Lorna and Hugh
This is the inscription on their headstone in the grounds of St James Church, Keri Keri.
Lotipo sounds as though it could be a place in one of the islands, or a Pacific Island on its own.
Wow,  a great headstone full of info.

The Samoan birth register has Mabel being bn at LOtopa, Apia,Upolo, Samoa.
Father RJ Aspinall.  Mother`s name Sifaga.

Thank you so much for all that wonderful information, amazing that a gravestone has so much on it there.
I wonder if there are any Ritchies' in Keri Keri researching the tree as well?
All I need now is the children's dobs, etc and their doings.
Once again many thanks for confirming the rumour of the Samoan, as to whether she was a princess remains to be seen!

My grandmother was Lorna Mabel Richie, who married Dennis Rothwell Bowden.  They had 4 children, the second eldest is my father.

Richard Pembridge Aspinall Sr, an Accountant / Treasurer, who made his home in Samoa had three children to Sifaga Aspinall:

Mabel (Kerikeri, NZ), Robert (America) and Richard Jr (Samoa). The youngest son of William Gregson Aspinall Sr (Merchant) & Caroline Hudson both of Liverpool, Lancashire, England, U.K.

My grandfather is Richard Pembridge (Jnr) Aspinall. My mother is Violet Leota (nee Aspinall) 13th child out of 14 of my grandfather Richard Pembridge (Jr) Aspinall.

Hope the above information is helpful? We certainly would love to meet Robert Aspinall & Mabel Ritchie's families sometime soon as they are the only 2 siblings of my late grandfather Richard Pembridge (Jr).

The children/grandchildren/great grandchildren & great great grandchildren of Richard Pembridge Aspinall (JR) holding our 1st ever family reunion here in Auckland,NZ December 2015.

Hope to hear from anyone connected to the Aspinall lineage especially through from Richard Pembridge Aspinall (Snr) & Sifaga Aspinall.
