Does anyone know how to get BMD in West Africa ?

I've looked on Ancestry but almost all of their African records are for South Africa or Zimbabwe. The only specifically West African record collection they seem to have is for marriages in Accra between 1876 and 2003.

Hi,
I'm looking for my grandfather.We think he died in West Africa somewhere after 1935.
That's all we know.We don't even know what area either.It's a mystery.

If he was a foreigner, his birth was probably registered with his home embassy.  My father was born in a West African country and the event was registered with the US embassy there.
