Hi; can someone please help locate the family below on 1891 and 1901 census.  The son William John is my main interest, commenced duties as assistant teacher in Brithdir (Gelligaer) Mixed School in 1908 and I have his details on the 1911.  Thanks, Roy

Hi I think in 1891 they are the family with no surname (My site) shown at Private House, Market Street, Narbeth, Llangan East

Thanks for the 1901 details; makes sense, according to the 1881, his wife Rose Emma Kinch was born in Margam.  Could you look her up on the 1891/1901?

Thanks once again.  For your interest; William John G Bartlett left Brithdir in 1923, transferred to the Non-Provided School, St Fagan where he was headmaster.  The school name is not one I'm familiar with, tried Google but nothing comes up.

"Non provided school" is apparently the term used in a 1902 Education Act to describe church run schools (non provided as in they were not provided by the newly established Local Education Authority)

St Fagans primary school is still a Church in Wales school, so this seems to make sense (although now located in Michaelston Super Ely - over the railway and the Ely river from the village of St Fagans itself).
