Help please - which county??

Thanks all, I think I have got the gist of it now, at the time of death in 1953 it was really Howdenshire not Howden but It is apparently written as being the district of Howden East Riding of Yorkshire.Its still confusing a bit but never mind.
I have ordered a copy of the death certificate what I am trying to do is to locate the exact where abouts of where he is buried.
