Patrick Stapleton
« on: Sunday 12 January 14 00:27 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

My immigrant ancestor to the United States was Patrick Stapleton. He was born on January 16, 1799 (possibly 1796). Family tradition states that his parents were John and Bridget (nee Fahey) Stapleton born in 1770 and 1774 (respectively) and married in 1795.

Patrick married Caroline (when and where are unknown). They came over to the other side of the pond in the mid to late 1830s and spent time on Eastern seaboard (possibly in Canada and Boston). Eventually they settled in or around Erin Township, Washington County, Wisconsin in 1847. There was also a possible relative of Patrick's, Martin R. Stapleton, that settled that same area in Wisconsin (he was born in 1826 AND MAY have been Patrick and Caroline's oldest child, but that is not for certain).

I am trying to find out where Patrick was from in County Tipperary. I have not been able to find any hard and fast records and I was wondering if anyone else may be able to help.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Michael
