« on: Thursday 12 June 14 19:11 BST (UK) »
I have just received the death certificate, for my great grandfather Henry Copeland of Enniscorthy. He died in 1932. On the death cert, there is only former address. On death it says Co.home. The informant is a Patrick Bo (no sure if it's boggan, bojjiu??) Occupier. His address is also Co.home. What does this mean please.
Grandfather cause of death acute bronchitis 10days. Cardiac Failure 12days certified. What does the 12days certified mean.
Thank you

12 days certified means he had the illness for that number of days and that a Doctor had attended him.

Co. Home is "County Home".       http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Enniscorthy/

Formerly a workhouse, it became a County Home.  Link gives an explanation

The informant is usually a member of staff of the County Home when the death occurred there.

Would a County Home, just have been an ordinary hospital that he was admitted to. Or would my great grandfather have been sent to the workhouse as it originally was. On the death cert it says he was married. Recently visited Enniscorthy, as I know he is buried in St Marys Cemetery, but was unfortunately unable to find his grave. :(

This link might help to explain.

Do you know how long he had been in the County Home?

The workhouse became a County Home in 1922.

Sorry to hear that you were unable to find his grave.

All I know is he died in county home, enniscorthy in 1932. Unfortunately don't no whether he just went in as he was ill, or for other reasons.
Thank you for your help
