Mary Thompson

I am seeking information about Mary born circa 1793-1796 in Milburn.  I do not have a maiden name for her but she married a William Thompson circa 1818 and they lived in the Bishop Auckland area.  Not much to go on but any ideas would be welcomed.

Unfortunately I have lost the link but some kind souls pointed me at a Mary Barton for William's Wife.  It looks very promising and leads to lots of possible ancestors.  However, I would just like to be able to confirm them as a couple with other evidence.  My concern is why did William as a Tailor go across from Bishop Auckland to find a Bride in Milburn, Westmorland?  Any ideas or thoughts would be welcomed.

Regards,
