CHARLES TAYLOR of RAINHAM KENT dd 13-08-1755

Hi Folks,
We are searching for the Birth/Parents/Location  of Charles Taylor. He married Frances Monk at Upchurch 18/10/1741 and had 6 children all Baptised in Rainham. We know of Charles Taylor born in Sandhurst 1715 but cannot connect him to Rainham. Also Charles Taylor born St Olave London  to Charles And Elizabeth. We cannot connct him to Rainham either. Charles was paying church rates as a
landholder 1741-1755. The family have been searching for a link for 30+ years now!!! PLEASE HELP!

I have the CD for Rainham Kent and the only Charles born there - one of 5 siblings - was baptised 12/07/1747 parents Charles and Frances, so it looks like only his children were baptised there.

Thank you so much for your reply to Charles Taylor.  The one which you have found was Charles/Frances son who only lived 1 month.  There were 6 children from their marriage: Elizabeth 1742,Frances 1745,Chales 1747,Sussana 1748,Thomas 1750, John1755 (John also died within 2 months). Although Charles was on Burials for St Margaret Rainham, my family have found nothing within the Church. We therefore wonder if he was buried elsewhere now. Strange that Susanna is not mention on the records as she is in the indexes as being born there in 1748, the CD only covers baptisms

My parents found the info on most of the Baptisms, my father passed away 21 yrs ago, mother still alive. There is a large family of the Taylors - one married to Osborne family, another to the Jarret's, Chillman Taylor also our family line, gets very complicated to say the least. It would appear that Thomas Craddock (Rev) also connected to the family somehow. We have found Charles paying Land Tax etc., between 1741 (Mrg.to Frances) and 1755 his death date. Thomas Taylor born 1750., son of C & F., Mrd. Elizabeth Ladd at Iwade. Thanks once again. Jill
