Hi, My father was Clarence Hamilton Levenson, he passed away in 1967. We have tried so hard to
find Grace Emily as my father spoke often of her and he worried that she was ok as she was not
always a well person. Ann O'Brien (Levenson)

Hi, can give you more accurate info. have dug out certificates.
Grace born 10/10/1887 at 9 Union St. St Gregory, Canterbury. Father Hamilton, Mother Emily formerly Willey.
Now comes the interesting part which I never knew about, it appears that she was married and widowed when she married my dad.
Marriage cert reads, 6/2/1917 Grace Haywood (widow) 27 married Joseph Ellis Lamy 28 at Baptist Chapel, High St. Herne Bay.
Dad was injured during ww1 and was in hospital in Herne bay, mum was a volunteer nurse, that is how they met.
I do not remember her mentioning your dad, she talked of Harold (killed in ww1) and Stanley, she had numerous sisters, I remember aunt Edith well, spent many holidays at Hampton Wick, only knew of the others from Xmas cards.
For all the years I knew my mum she was never Ill very healthy and agile, would be interested to know what ailed her prior to that. Hope all this info helps you fit in the pieces, if you know of the 1st marriage let me know, I will now start to see if I can trace any record.  Bye for now

She appears to still be single in 1911 census.

So first marriage must be 1911-1917. But I am not seeing anything in the index. Maybe she nursed (and married?) abroad for a while?

Hamilton dies 1916. And leaves a Will. Often they can be good sources to find a daughters married name - or in this case (if she is mentioned) whether she is still single or has married

Probate index entry:
Hamilton Levenson of 107 Broad Street Canterbury army pensioner  died 9th December 1916 Administration With Will to Emily Levenson widow Effects £151 13s 5d
