BROOKE Family
« on: Friday 08 November 13 11:33 GMT (UK) »
In 1878 a FRANCES BREEN married ALLEN LEWIS BROOKE at Blessington.   He was a Farmer and the son of another ALLEN LEWIS BROOKE, Confectioner.     I am interested in finding out more about this BROOKE family.  For example, did they live in Blessington or did he just put Blessington as his Residence at the time of the marriage?   Does anyone have a connection to the above marriage?

I see from Irish Genealogy he was born in Ushers Quay on 29 Oct 1854 and baptised in St Audeons on 24 Dec 1854 as were some of his siblings, there is no record of his parents marriage however it does say his mother was Elizabeth.
George born 16 dec 1860
Arthur 1st feb 1857
Martha 16 aug 1863
Sophia 3rd aug 1852.They also lived at 18 Watling st.

Thanks a million.    I was just about to post a message to say I had found him in 1911 in Armagh with his wife and his sister.    I had looked in 1901 census and couldn't find the family, so started looking to see if they had left the country.  Stupid me didn't try 1911 Census before posting my message.

Anyway, it would be nice to make contact with someone else researching this family.   I am connected to the BREEN family.

Thanks again for yours

Sadly Irish Genealogy shows burials for Martha 20 june 1864 St James and Sophia 2nd March 1854 St Audeons
1901 Census shows a George Brooke age 41 in no 1 Avoca rd Wood Quay with wife Catherine and children cant locate them on 1911 census possibly his brother.

from the marriage index on Family Search i think that George on the 1901 census is George Spence Brooke
marriage Oct Dec 1893 Dublin South vol2 page 634
son Oscar George Brooke July Sep 1894 Dublin South vol 2 page 604. either will get wifes name if you think its the right man.

Thanks again for all your efforts.   However, I don't want to waste your time as I had already found them in England in 1901 and downloaded the Census details.    I think I am on top of finding all I need to know, and thanks again for your interest.  It has been appreciated.
