Arthur Edward Hannen-Did the Family Run a Transport Business?

In 1924 Arthur ( Ted) Hannen married Dorothy Dinsdale, possibly in Colwyn Bay. Did he run or have connections with a local haulage/transport business? He is believed to have emigrated , but later returned to the UK and settled in the Eastbourne area.

Hi - in 1923 the London Gazette describes him as a carter & carrier. Hope this helps.

Hi if your Arthur E was born 7th July 1897 with wife Mrs D born 24th August 1901 with a Miss J E Hannen born 10th January 1941 residing at Redcroft, Alexander Road, Colwyn Bay then they departed on the 22nd August 1958 on SS Orcades London to Auckland intending to reside in the USA.

Their was another voyage 28th May 1959 on SS Himalaya, London to all ports, his occupation now Engineer with same companions Residing in UK The Regent Palace Hotel London, intending to return to the UK

To everlea and keyboard86 thanks for your replies and information. It confirms the vague information I already had. Miss J.E.Hannen was their daughter Joyce. As far as I know they only had one child.
