Agar Marriage - City of Cork
« on: Saturday 08 October 05 23:31 BST (UK) »
I am searching for a marriage of an Ellen Agar in the city of Cork around 1836.

Her daughter Catherine Hickey, born circa 1838, in the city of Cork, has listed a John * as her father on her marriage certificate but a notation has noted that "the bride is unsure of her father's ^ name "  with "christian" inserted before name.  ??? ???  It goes on to state that he died when she was very young and his occupation was Pensioner Army.   So perhaps Hickey was a stepfather, I'm really at a loss with this one.

Can anyone help please?

Cheers Juddee

Hi Juddee,

I too am interested in this marriage. My husband is descended from Catherine.
Did you ever find out more information?

Thanks,
Eleanor
