There is an ancient monument on the track/road that runs up through the valley behind the village.
the photographs look very like it. If it is the same building there must be something published because a few years back when i was there there were archaeologists working on it.

I had put this on the back burner for a while. Yesterday I emailed Bill Jones, and he confirmed that these photos are of Tai Penamnen.

So the ancestors who lived there were Robert Williams (of the "muddle" thread :)) and his family who included Moses Williams, Patagonia. They lived at Penamnen in the 1870s and 1880s. Maybe some others that I haven't found yet :)
