Thanks KN..

In fact, I posted that article on the Upton village website after receiving lots of help and information from Mrs Audrey Long of the Blewbury Local History Society.

All best, dfss

As the extract from Ezra Francis Martin's journal describing his trip to Utah seems to have gone from the LDS I website I contacted them to ask if they could digitize the complete journal. This they kindly did & at no charge. It is available on
https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE3990927
It has  a lot of family records and history of his brothers towards the back as well as his missionary tour around the UK 1883-4

Hello Petmas,

The LDS sent me the same. It is extremely generous of them. I too noted the information given at the end of the journal. As far as my ancestor Caleb is concerned it is a little in error in that he got his (Caleb's) wife's surname before marriage wrong though he got the first letter right. However this is understandable given that Caleb died in 1869 and Ezra was writing at a distance of about 30 years from that event. I have sorted out the Children of Francis Martin 1790-1870 so far as I am at present able and have put the information on a webpage at :

All best to you, dfss

I picked up a couple of errors too but if I was writing it in my 80's there would be a lot more :-)

Hello again Petmas,

No obligation to reply of course, but I was wondering which of the eighteen siblings you might be researching ? Unless of course you are doing so on behalf of someone else.

Best,
dfss
