I have also been assisting New Zealander with this family.
I think you are right. Margaret Millar was the child of William Millar and Janet Whyte.
Janet Whyte later married Robert Graham.

Look at the 1851 census:
This is Robert withhis mother and sisters but it looks like Janet may have died.

I have a seat booked at Scotlands People tomorrow and will obtain the 1829 baptism record.
I will also look for the death of Robert Graham.
I will obtain this 1851 return to confirm that Robert was a widower.

Yikes this is becoming complicated !!

I have picked up previously on the 1851 Census where Janet Miller is a lodger aged 3 years with the Graham family but never joined the dots to make sense of it.

I will have plenty to think about and much to visit by the time I get to Scotland in 2015.

I collected some records today.
Margaret Miller b 1829 does appear to have been born within a marriage.
She was born in Muckhart and there's nothing  on the baptism to suggest her parents, William Miller and Janet Whyte were unmarried

Robert Graham and Janet Whyte were both residing in Dollar at time of their 1834 marriage.

Robert Graham was indeed widowed on the 1851 census, his wife Janet Whyte died in Dollar 23rd Jan 1850 and buried on 26th Jan 1850.

I could not locate the death of Robert Graham.
