I think you are right.   :) 

A transcription I've just found on the web:

DEATH:
Agnes MERCER (married to William MERCER Ploughman) died
1st May 1892 8h55m PM at Charlestown, Dunfermline aged 82 years
Father: Andrew MILLER Land Steward deceased
Mother: Margaret FYFE deceased
Cause of death was Senile decay Diarrhea as cert by Robert CRAINE
Informant: Margaret MILLER her daughter (present)

Yes, Craine is correct.

I found Robert E Craine on the 1891 census as a Surgeon and General Practitioner living in Dunfermline. He is 48 years of age and born in England.

(I still think the C looks like an E, but on closer inspection is does look like the C of Charlestown  :))

The consensus had been that it was an 'E' and therefore Ervine but I had my doubts so I posted it here.
