I don't have any Carters or Winbows in my tree - my ancestors from Hawkesbury were the Stinchcombes, Always, Thompsons and Martens mainly.

I have just had a glance through the St Mary's churchyard survey which was done in 1999.  There are three Carters on there:

George Carter October 5th 1874 aged 48
Mary Carter October 2nd 1852 aged 75
William Carter January 30th 1864 aged 87 interr'd in Bristol Cemetary

And two Winbows:
Annie Winbow November 28th 1872 Aged 24
William Winbow died August 23rd 1851 aged 58

I don't know whether they are of any use to you.

The survey was produced by Hawkesbury Local History Society - http://www.hawkesburylocalhistorysociety.co.uk/

They must have heard us talking!

The transcript of marriages that I did seems to have gone - or at least I cannot view it on my iPad.

They are there, I was just looking at the transcript of Hawkesbury Marriages on the site when I saw your reply.

Fantastic news all round!

Thanks for helping me out Lisa - very useful to have the information you have given.

I wonder which Ann Carter it is - one would have been 16 for the first birth and 36 for the last and the other would have been 28 for the first and 48 for the last.  Is that second one pushing it a bit still to be giving birth?

Cheers

I've just checked on the site and there are a number of Wimbow / Wimbole burials but no baptisms.  On the IGI using the Wimbole spelling which I had not seen before there are two William Wimboles baptised in Hawkesbury in 1735 and 1754 but they don't appear on the Hawkesbury site.  The batch number is slightly different.

Interesting!

Must just not be viewable on the iPad then Mick - as I recall it was on a spreadsheet back in the day, maybe the 1st Gen ipad doesn't cope with them.

48 - well lets just say that I am 48 and technically its possible - its a girl thing!

I am tracing my husbands family tree as well and his great grandmother would have been 44 when the child whose birth records I am waiting for was born - which I thought was pushing it a bit!

I have several links to the Stinchcombe family through my own Selwood line.
