Trying to trace further decendants of Patrick Lalouette, listed Chapel lane, Navan, 1854 Giffiths evaluation. A daughter married James Carolan, also from Navan, in 1882, any  further information? :)

Hi Seanmhi

So,

We know that Patrick was a coachman.

We know that he appears on the GV in Navan, Meath !

It's highly possible that this George is his son !

We know that his daughter Mary married James Carolan (and that Lalouette / Carolan part of your tree is Ok ~ we are just trying to sort out Patrick !)

So,

Given the fact that Mary Lalouette married James Carolan THEN

these 2 ladies MUST be her sisters !!!!!!!!!!

What do you think ?

Seanmhi

How little you know about ladies !

Ladies of the time were given to GREAT exaggeration as to underestimating their age on the Census.

Please don't rule them out so quickly !

Hey, my mother does it all the time  ;)

If you were to take their ages 'at face value' then they are very similar in age to their 'nephew', not rare but does it not make you question their ages ~ if you look at the original image you will see that whoever filled out the form originally was putting their ages under the male column, then rubbed it out and put, what appears to be a different age in the female column  ???

OR

Another way to look at it is that the term 'niece / nephew' was a loose one at the time.

The may have been cousins and hence could be children of a sibling of Mary's.

Did Mary have a son called Patrick ? I would imagine so given that her father was called Patrick !

Where was Mary and her husband James in 1901 ?
