Hi ajjbc & Thirsty,

Thanks for getting back to me  :)

Agnes Stainton's maiden name was Wilson and I think she was English (possibly from Northumberland or Dunham). Her husband James Stainton was born in Gateshead, Dunham in 1800 and they had their first child in 1820 in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland. James Stainton died in 1883 and is buried in Hawick too - so perhaps they are all in Wilton Cemtery? Or perhaps they are in now unmarked graves? I have some info on James Stainton (newspaper articles, obit and the like) but nothing on Agnes. James did remarry in 1840 to a Janet Anderson.

Thanks so much for the help guys  ;D

I noticed that you mentioned the Redpath's and Turnbull's in your families of interest.

My Park family tree starts off with Thomas Park  marrying Mary Redpath in 1809 at Melrose.  They had two sons:  Joseph (born 1810 at Mertoun) and James (born 1813 at Morebattle) who married Margaret Turnbull.  I am a descendant of James.  Any information appreciated.

Many thanks for getting back to me - I have Mary Redpath as being baptized on 27 March 1774 in Morebattle - will have to re-check my dates.  If you come across anymore info on Mary Redpath or Margaret Turnbull please contact me.

Regards

Hi there
Found my way to your posts. Is is possible to look for any Croziers in Hawick, in particular my great grandfather Peter Crozier buried in Wellogate Cemetery. He died 2 Oct 1927. Any other Croziers would be a bonus. Am also researching the Daykins family. Thanks

....found:
Children of Elizh Daykins and John Crozier.
It does not give years..
John age 5 yr
Mary age 9 mo
Catherine age 4 1/2 yr,
Jane age 3 1/2 yr
Andrew age 1 1/2 yr.
Elizh Daykins died Nov 29 1905 age 71 yr
John Crozier died May 25 1906 age73 yr

That seemed to be all there was in Wellogate.
Looked through Wilton and saw none there
Hope it helps some. You should be able to reconstruct these children's birth years from use of the Census records and from there order cert from Scots People..good luck.

Ta for info on Crozier/Daykins. What a speedy reply. I have some of the children listed in census information and now know what happened to them.
Will have to get cracking to see what else I can find out.
Is Scots people expensive? I'm in Australia and don't think the exchange rate favours me but then again I don't suppose if favours you either. Thanks again for your help - its really appreciated.
