Parke Family
« on: Friday 01 November 13 20:02 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the birth/christening of Richard Parke, born 1602, and supposedly the son of a Thomas Parke of Isle of Ely Cambridgeshire. Does anyone know of this family?
Thank you for your help.
Susie

What's the source that he was from the Isle of Ely?

There are several dates of birth floating around for Richard Parke, none of which have a proof. There are some christenings in various places in England, but no proof that it is the right person. In a Parke family history there is a statement that says he could be the son of Thomas Parke of the Isle of Ely. The one thing that makes me give this more thought is that Richard named his first son "Thomas."
Thanks for your help!
Susie

Thank you, but my Richard came to America on the "Defence" in 1635. He is on a passenger list with his wife Margery and two daughters, Elizabeth and Isabel.
