Hi all
I may have pressed the wrong button but I am after the 1861 census for Cambridgeshire.
Thanks

In 1861 Jane age 58 is a visitor in the house of John Smith, wife Betsy and family in Whittlesey (address: Bassenhalley? Moor)

Hi Ruskie
Thank you for that.  I was interested to know if she was with a relative but the names don't match any relatives I have.

Hi.

George on the 1841 census Needham and Jane have 2 children noted
with the surname Green who are more than likely Jane's children.

The one named Betsy (Elizabeth on the 1851) marries John Smith in 1852.

Therefore it seems likely Jane is the Mother-in-Law of John Smith on the 1861.

Looking at the same family John and Betsey in the 1871 Census for Thorney
Jane is noted as Mother-in-law.

Hello Sandy!
Great work - I suspected they must be related even though Jane was given the vague title of "Vistor" on the census.

Happy New Year to you too Sandy. I disagree though - you did all the detective work. Jane took about 2 seconds to find in the 1861 census.  ;D
