McMillan/Mcginlay/Mckinnely/Mcgennely
« on: Friday 28 November 08 14:40 GMT (UK) »
Anyone any info on Jean/Jane McMillan who married James Mcgenlay (variations of the surname)  they must have married before 1789 as this is when Thomas Mcgenlay was born. Keir, Dunscore, could be any area around these places.I have searched O.P.R but can find no trace of these people.
Tika, has info on the children of the above, but so far its as though James and Jean?Jane never existed. any help I would be most gratefull
thnaks tessone

Happy New Year Tessone,
I hope you are still monitoring this post.
I believe that James McGenley would be my 3rd great grandfather and I am wondering if you have any information of the family line that you would care to share with me.   I am willing to reciprocate by giving access to my tree on Ancestry.
Thanks in anticipation.
John

Sorry I have not been on this site for some time and have just seen your post.  I am 4 x great granddaughter of James McGinnley and Jeanne McMillan.  I am descended from their son Thomas who married Mary McMurdo.  Where do you connect into the family. I have information on some of their other children and have been searching for a long time.  I am also in contact with a couple of people who are also descended from other lines. Please get in touch if you would like the information I have. We have not been able to get back further than James and Jeanne.

Hi Morag,
Very pleased to hear from you.  James & Jean would be by 3 x grand parents.  I am descended via Thomas 1784, Robert 1834, William 1877 & John 1909 all of which are recent discoveries.  Did you celebrate a special occasion in Egypt last year? - if so we have a common researcher   If you are on Ancestry I would willingly send you my email address so that we can communicate outside of this forum. My member name at Ancestry is oldboar where you could message me if you would like to.
Kind regards
John
