Would this be Maxwelltown in Kirkudbrightshire?

I will ask a Mod to move this to a more suitable forum. ;D

Hi

You will need to buy some credits and either look for his birth on SP or look for him on the 1911 census - also on SP

Hi

For some reason (probably looking for someone else), I already had a copy of the 1911 page which includes a George William Kill, aged 5:

55 Back Park Terrace, Dumfries
Henry John Templeton, 60, engine fireman, Tweed mill. b. Carlisle
Mary Ann, wife, 61, b. Dumfries, Annan
William John, son 31, s, power loom (?), Tweed mill, b. Carlisle
George Wm Kill, g'son, 5, b. London

GRO ref for his birth:

George William Kill, Dec q, 1905, Wandsworth, vol 1d p 630
Private Baptism -
7 May 1906 Clapham Park, All Saints, Lambeth:
George William Kill.
Parents - Robert Caleb Kill (gardener) and Christina Ellen Kill. Living 32 Wingford Road.

In 1901 the family are in Clapham:
32 Wingford Road, Clapham  - RG13/466/75/45
Robert C Kill, 49, gardener (non domestic), b. Hants, Canfield  - ? should this be Clanfield
Christina E, w, 28, b. Scotland
Lucy A, d, 10, b. Carlisle
Robert C,s, 8, b. do
Christina E, d, 5, b. London. Brixton
Stephen H, s, 3, b. London, Lambeth
Harriett M, d,  1, b. do
Doris L, d, 1 mth, b. do
and boarders

Using the free index on the latest census, I can find Robert C Kill but not Christina - she's not with the family.

Here's Christina Templetons's birth in Annan, 25 May 1873 - parents: Henry Templeton and Mary Ann Todd:

It would seem we are now looking at Dumfries for this topic so I'll move it there.

Ah............... Thanks, ev  :)  I now know how I had the information as I've  helped patrish with her Templeton line on and off list a good while back.

I'm not sure if she did find Christina in 1911, I've PMed her to draw her attention to this thread.
