I wonder if someone can help?  My 4th Great Grandfather George Salmon(d) b 13 August 1786 married Janet Cuthel(Cuthill) on 30 November 1810 in Kilsyth Stirlingshire.  George died 14 December 1793, Edinburgh. I have found the possibility of George's father being a John Salmond, however I can find 2 John Salmond's both born to parents Peter Salmon and Janet Brock. One born 31 March 1758, the other 28 September 1762.  I haven't found a death between 1758 and 1762 for a John so am unsure which John George's father may be - and whether in fact George's grandparents were Peter Salmon and Janet Brock.  I will also post this on the Stirlingshire board.

Apologies, It was one of the John Salmonds that died 14 Dec 1793 in Edinburgh.  I don't have a death for George Salmon(d).  I have been told a George Salmon died 20 Sep 1838 in Glasgow, but it may not be the right George.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
