Foulkes/Stafford
« on: Monday 25 October 04 17:56 BST (UK) »
Also I am very interested in finding the marriage date of my gggrandfather's 2nd marriage to Margaret Foulkes.  They lived in Coventry and the children of this marriage were born there, Margaret Foulkes came from Llanyfillin in Montgomeryshire, Wales.  I have the births of most of Jame's children from this marriage but the date of his wedding is proving very elusive!!  My ggrandmother, Susan was a daughter from his first marriage to Eliza (nee Essex). So if anyone out there has any information I'd be pleased to hear from you.
Surnames: Stafford, Essex, Bird, North: Coventry, Warwickshire.
Hyatt: Coventry, Leicester.
Surnames: Bunstone, Jeanes: South Petherton, Somerset.
Surnames: Moynihan, O'Leary, Murphy, MacGillycuddy: Kerry, Ireland
Surnames: Brace, Powell: Monmouthshire, Glamorganshire and Pembrokeshire.

Hi Butterfly

Do you have any further info on your Margaret Foulkes ie DOB or even an approximate age at marriage or year of marriage?

I have a Margaret Foulkes in my tree and I would be interested to see if this is her.

Hello

I have my Great Grandmother Eliza Foulkes from same village in  Wales marrying in Warwickshire - her mother was Margaret Foulkes and her husband died in 1822 at age 32 and I think she remarried - not sure what era your GG Grandfather was or what his surname was.  Let me know if this sounds like some sort of a match!!!

Hi
Just to clarify things
Margaret Foulks born 1845 is the housekeeper in 1871 and the spouse of James Stafford in 1881.
Eliza the first wife is present 1851 ,James is still married 1861 but Eliza is missing.
Deaths Eliza Stafford in Coventry
DEC 1865 6d 296
Mar 1893 age 64 6d 330.

To be honest I think James and Margaret never did marry.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.

Definitely  not our Margaret - she was born about 1790 married and disappeared when her husband died 1822. Daughter Eliza (appears to be two Eliza, possibly half sisters, in the family) was born around 1816 and second one later....
Will keep on looking.
Thanks
