Can anyone read this handwriting?

Hi

I've attached a section from my Scottish gr gr gr grandfather's 1861 death certificate - it's the box for the parent's details. I can make out the name "James Robertson" and the mother's name Janet Robertson / Monteath, but can't decipher James's occupation.

Is anyone here good at interpreting 19th century handwriting? Thanks in advance to anyone who can have a go at reading it,

My first thought is agriculturing .. farmer land but I could be well off the mark    those flamboyant loops get in the way a bit

What area did the death occur, Steve, and what is the christian name of the deceased?

The third line down is 'James Dec.d '  (deceased)

I was looking at occupations on the '41 census and it seems that you were either a farmer, or an agricultural labourer.

The death certificate was for George Robertson husband of Isabella Wark, and he died in Stirling, 5th Mar 1861

Should George be on the 1841 Census in Scotland?

If so, what was his birth year?

Perhaps the writer meant "arable" farmer as opposed to one raising livestock?
