Hi out there
just been on family search
looking at my grandfathers brother-in law james massey cooper who worked with him at cliffhill quarry markfield .he started there in 1926 he was born  28th-3- 1906 so had a look at that it and states that his mother wasnt known until 1911 .it says cave .is this the right james massey  reg dat says 1912 market bosworth  i have james massey cooper .

mum says he could have taken his stepfathers name and also kept his own name .

I can see him on the 1911 in Maine St, Markfield.

Here is his birth registration and his parents marriage.

just that  i have born 28th -3 -o6 he worked at cliffehill quarry feb 1926
then he retired and worked at hollies farm ratby lane markfield leicestershire but cant find any thing on this farm

Hi Danone

He may well have been born on 28/03/1906. He is shown under the June Quarter, so birth registered between 1st April and 30th June. Parents had 6 weeks to register a birth.

thanks very much for what you have sent me sorry not been for a couple of days .been busy .sorting this out from what i had found on family search .this is mums family history  so had put it with the massey stuff i already .my aunt amy told me before she passed away some years ago that a mam used to come and visit mary ellen  and he wore a top hat but no knew who he was .he never gave a name .going by  what i  found out about james pinching the coat would it have been him .we never know .

 :) :) :)from charles and elizabeth cooper Abrahams parents ,the clapham family are related  from Hannah cooper the sister of charles she married charles clapham elliotts lane markfield they were the next door neibours of charles and elizabeth after they left old stoke heys farm ratby No 60  and lived up there  near cliffe hill  quarry .when i first started doing mum s family tree , some one told me there used to be gardens on the ned of ellitts lane markfield but cant find any meansion of it i know there cottages up there the old rail line is still there just buried under tarmac .it was a small train that run along the bottom of the gardens .i have seen pictures of the trains and have seen them running some years ago there are some small fields on the end as you come back out on to stanton road which i was told was part of the ivan ho trail i would love to find out more on ellits lane markfield the equestrian center  was a farm that belonged to joe cooper  my grand fathers brother .and brougt by duffield dairy .
