Hi Danone

All fascinating  8)

I've followed the names (joint interest - I've got a Gladys Gertrude marrying Ben Merriman).

The matter of Joseph William Massey's father/s on his marriage certificate could be that he was John Thomas J Massey.  On the 1911 census he is James Massey.

Could he "officially" be John Thomas J Massey but known to his family and neighbours using just the name James.  Could the "or" name be James Massey rather than James Spacey  ???

A lot our family were known by their second names  ::)
Weston/Wesson, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire
Merriman - Stanford on Soar, Canada & Australia
Antill and Wood-Antill, in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, Caernarfonshire, Canada & New Zealand
Bamford, Northamptonshire & Derbyshire
Baum
Curtis
Richards
Elwin
Locker
Robinson
Langham
Langsdale
Ferguson - Ireland and Devon
Bamford
Newbold
Dobie - Dumfriesshire & Co Durham
Jones, incl Broster Jones and Tyzack Jones
Scranton, Philadelphia

Sorry Danone, you have lost me completely, what exactly are you asking me to do there?

It reads as though you're asking me to find a piece of card that you've mislaid but that can't be right!
